Oichan's Corrado Lambo Style Doors


Lambo Style Doors　2005/01/09 2005/01/28 Updated Related VWvortex Forum The HPA Motorsports Inc just announced the article of a Lambo doors kits for Corrado for sale to the VWvortex Forum when I was talking a Lambo doors at my Bulletin board with all. My friend reacted to the article very sensitively.
	The manufacturer of the LSD is Lambostyledoors.de.
	After he ordered it, it arrived after one month. He got this for 13,000 dollars of the intro price. The present price is 18,990 dollars. Sipping cost is 240 dollars(to Japan) a little bit expensive.

	Install I spent installing this kit for about four days with Mr. Irie of the Ventiler engineering. Disconnect the battery, remove the front bumper, front fenders, cables and etc.......
	Probably, we don't need to removed the headlights. I think that when we removed the headlights, it is easy to adjust the fender position.

	Remove the body sealer by the scraper.
	Cleanning for the person who looks in that. :D
	Modifyed the original hinges by the air tool or the grinder. Don't shave it too much. You won't be able to use the stock door hinges.

	Dismantle the swing arm off the chassis plate.
	Cut out the drilling jig from the install instraction and it on the A-piller, marking drill center to the A-piller hinges.
	Pre drill on 4.0mm Drilling 6.8mm Cut thread M8
	Mount the LSD chassis plate to the new fitting points at the above bodywork.
	Cut out the drilling jig from the install instraction and it on the upper hinges of the door, marking drill center to the door upper hinge. Did the position of the hole slip by my mistake?
	Pre drill on 4.0mm Drilling 6.8mm Cut thread M8 Decide the lower drilling position after preinstalling the swing arm to door hinge.
	Mount the LSD swing arm to the new fitting points at the above doorwork.
	Open the door.
	Close the door
	Wire connection tube. The ring of the solder is in the center of the tube. include LSD wiring kit. I ever sow this connection tube in Japan.
	That solder melts easily by the cigar lighter. Easy connect the wire. very useful.
	Lap the wires by acetate tape and fix it to the some wiring points.
	After install the door, we have the door wobbling problem. Wobbling issue is a little dissolved by adding that bolt. After that, I found this problem fix method at install instraction for A3. That bolt and nut isn't contained in the kit.
	Modification of the fender trim. Use air tool
	One fiting point decreases.
	Cut out the side protection strips. We modification the side protection strips because, when I open the door, hit the door edge to the front fender side protection strips. 2005/01/27 Update I received the mail related to this problem from HPA. I found the description that the side protection strips of prototype car was smaller than the strips of him Corrado in this page's pic. I remenber the early model (-7/1991) have the smaller strips than later model (8/1991-)strips.The early model may not need to cut off it.

	Body clearance the fender to the door (around the side press line) No clearance. We recomend remove the side protection strip.
	Adjustment screw(red arrow) of the lift up motion door stabilizer, additional stop unit for the fender. That bolt and nut isn't contained in the kit.
	Body clearance The fender to the door (around the shoulder line) About 3mm. I pray that the adjuster screw doesn't loose.

	Then, the problem is happened. When I was close the door, the damper hit to the chassis plate. I added a extra washer to the dumper pivot.

	The position of the hole of the drill jig for the upper hinge of the door is in the outside too much. The following problem occurs when I make the hole in accordance with this drill jig. Did the position of the hole slip by my mistake?
	I couldn't move the swing arm any further, though I wanted to move the door to the outside to line up with the fender. I should have made a thread to about 5mm inside from the that bolt.
	Lower hinge. It's same as the upper hinge. After all, I made a thread again.
2005/01/28 Update I got the following advice for this problem from LSD-doors.com. #1 loosening the fender and moving it forward to create more of a space between the door and fender line to compensate #2 removing or shaving the side molding on the fender (if extreme) where the contact is occurring #3 removing the fender and adjusting the big C profile in conjunction with the bottom "adjustment screw" moving it forward to compensate for the distance needed (#3 should be preformed only if the top 2 do not work sufficient) Kerstin, Thank you for your advice.
	Passenger side. What is.......... It's the serge tank for the central door lock system.
	After all, moved the serge tank to this position.
	Side turn signal.
	There is a dumper behind the side turn signal hole. no room. We must move the side turn signal to the other place.
